An informed public vs an emotionally shaped public: How Liberals make their money, US News, News , opinion

Democracy works best when the citizenry is informed on the issues. However, Democrats/Liberals/Progressives thrive on the ignorance of the public in order to emotionally shape public opinion on issues.

For instance take an issue like Social Security and see the difference between Republicans and Democrats:

Republican candidate: “Social Security is in big trouble and if we don’t make changes, it won’t be there when you kids reach retirement age.”

Democrat candidate: “The Tea Party wants to take away your Social Security by privatizing it so rich Wall Street fat cats can make more money and pay no taxes.

The Republican candidate laid out how Social Security needs to be adjusted so that younger workers, who are currently paying into a system, doesn’t collapse before they retire. However, the Democrat candidate only tries to scare the voters and simultaneously leaving the false perception that the status quo is fine with them. The only way Democrats are successful is if the public doesn’t know the issue for themselves.
